How to get involved in World Leukemia Day

On Monday 4th September 2023, patient groups from across the world will unite to raise awareness of leukemia. We would love you to get involved and have listed how you can show your support below.

This year’s World Leukemia Day theme is “What does Leukemia mean to you?”

So what does it mean to you? Does it mean walking with an invisible illness every day? Or perhaps being told by others you have ‘the good cancer.’

Despite the many differences all leukemia patients have, this World Leukemia Day we want to come together with groups across the globe to advocate for leukeemia patients, raise awareness of the symptoms and bring together the international leukemia community.

"We might speak different languages, but leukemia knows no borders."

On 4th September, why not share your leukemia story on social media and use the hashtags #WLD23 or #WorldLeukemiaDay

We've created a range of social media graphics that you can use on World Leukemia Day. Simply download and use with the hashtag #WLD23 or #WorldLeukemiaDay on social media.

Dig out your spotty clothes and share your ‘spotty selfie’ on social media with the hashtag #WLD23 on September 4th to show your support.

My name is <name> and when I was <age at diagnosis> I was diagnosed with <type> leukemia. Before diagnosis I had the following symptoms <delete as appropriate> fatigue, bruising or bleeding, night sweats, frequent infections, weight loss, feeling weak or breathless. I didn't know these were signs of a leukemia. This world leukemia day, I am asking five people from my friends and family to share this message to raise awareness of this blood cancer. #WLD23 #WorldLeukemiaDay #SpotLeukaemia
